HISTORY OF OUR CENTER
The Association of English Teachers “American Class” was registered in Odesa, Ukraine in 2000 with the help of the organization “Americans for Democracy in Ukraine “(ADU) in Albany, N.Y.
The Association plays an important role in assisting teachers and students of the gymnasia #7 to advance th
eir knowledge of English language and understanding of American Culture.

The Association plays an important role in assisting teachers and students of the gymnasia #7 to advance th
eir knowledge of English language and understanding of American Culture. The association is a well equipped resource center that provides English teachers with current English literature, audio and video materials, newspapers and magazines as well as workshops, seminars and training sessions on innovative teaching techniques. ADU has provided the association with a Xerox machine, TV, VCR and computer.
Visiting teachers from the USA, United Kingdom, Australia, Poland, Germany and Norway have provided our students with the unique opportunity to meet, share ideas, learn about other countries and cultures, and practice their English language skills.
Activities
The members of our association meet every year in a supportive professional environment. Members who have attended conferences return to the association to share what they have learned. Select Association member trained in Global Teacher Methods sponsored by the British Council.
Library
American Class Library is open 17 hours a week. It offers a wide selection of English-language books, audiotapes and videotapes. These materials are available for checkout or photocopying.
